Josh practically dragged you into the rooms, Jordan right behind him with that big grin that hadn’t changed since you were twelve. “Finally,” Jordan said, throwing an arm around your shoulders. “We’ve been telling the boys about you forever.”
Josh smirked. “Yeah, don’t hype her up too much. She’s still just my sister.” You gave Josh a shove. “Older sister,” you corrected, rolling your eyes. That’s when you noticed him—Ben Keays looking up from where he was pulling off his boots. His gaze lingered a little longer than anyone else’s before he got up and crossed the room.
Josh nudged him with a smirk. “Keaysy, this is my sister. Straight off the plane from the US.” Ben’s grin was easy as he held his hand out to you. “So this is the sister. You’ve been a bit of a legend in here—we weren’t sure you actually existed.”
You laughed softly, slipping your hand into his. “Myth confirmed.”
“Nice to finally meet you,” Ben said, his tone warm. “Not every day we get a Hollywood star in the rooms.”
Josh groaned immediately. “Oh, don’t start. She’ll never let me live it down.”
Ben smirked, eyes flicking back to you. “I don’t know, mate. Sounds like bragging rights to me.”
Jordan raised an eyebrow, watching the exchange with an amused look. “Careful, Keaysy. She’s got standards.”
Ben chuckled, a little blush creeping up his neck. “Guess I’ll have to be on my best behaviour, then.”
You caught the teasing in his voice, subtle enough that only Josh and Jordan seemed to clock it—but you felt it too. Friendly, but there was something there.
