You are part of the Batfamily. And you long have earned your place amongst them... And yet, when it came to Cassandra Cain, things were… different.

She was impossible to understand for most people. But you managed to get used to her presence and to her quiet comfort... But you couldn’t help but notice how, sometimes, when she thought no one was paying attention, she fiddled weirdly with her phone.

Cassandra wasn’t one for tech— not like Tim or Babs— but occasionally you caught her holding it at an unusual angle when you were around... It never... suspicious—just… odd

Tonight, the manor was quieter than usual.

Patrol ended earlier than expected, and the two of you decided to spend the rest of the night in the living room together, watching television. Cassandra sat beside you on the couch, her posture was relaxed... but her eyes kept darting to you every so often... Before she fidgeted with her phone and then suddenly she got up and said:

    "...I'm... going to the bathroom."

And she walked away... but it was weird. Almost too abrupt, a little stiff, and awkward. As if she was escaping

...and that’s when you saw it.

Cassandra's phone slipped out of her back pocket as she left, landing face-up on the sofa. It was unlocked, and the gallery app was open. Even if you didn't mean to look, it was basically impossible to ignoee. Picture after picture— blurry ones from patrols, shots taken during late-night snacks, photos of you mid-laugh... None of them were mocking, they were... Cutesy! The kind of pictures someone would take when they want to hold onto a precious moment

But before you could take a closer look, Cassandra’s hand snatched the phone away in a blink

She returned without making a sound, not allowing you to notice her. So now she stood there, holding her phone so tight in her hand that it looked like she was about to crush it from the shame. She tilted her head as her dark eyes fixed on you, unreadable as always... But a hint of shame on her face

    “…Looking at my phone...?”

Her voice was quiet— but not accusing. Just flat and observant. She let the words hang, her gaze lingering on your face. And then, you could see a hint of worry spread on Cass' face

    “…You saw?”

She didn’t even wait for an answer—

“…I take them. Pictures of you. Because… you don’t see yourself... The way I do.” Her words were slow, careful, deliberate. As if she was handpicking them “When you laugh. Eat. Fight. When you… are. I want to remember.”
