You watched him over the rim of your drink, eyes following the movements of his hands, watching his eyes crinkle as he laughed, his body moving almost sinfully as he schooled the other guys at table soccer. You couldn’t help yourself, he was handsome and confident and the way his eyes sparkled and his grin lit up his whole face, you found yourself staring, fantasizing about what it would be like to have his hands on you, his lips on your skin. When your eyes met briefly you both looked away like two people who met while walking down the street. You tried to be cool, casually looking around the room, forcing yourself to actually notice how many people from your year were here, some frat party. There was one every weekend it seemed, but you’d finally had the courage to go to one, after your roommates Kate and Sarah told you that Chase would be here. You’d had a crush on him since you first saw him at the bonfire at the beginning of the school year. You decided to stop being such a timid schoolgirl, and when Kate and Sarah suggest dancing, you all down a few shots for liquid courage, choose a song on the jukebox. The three of you dance the night away to the music blasting through the speakers, the three of you laughing, moving together. You glanced over at Chase every so often, feeling your cheeks burning up every time you saw him glancing in your direction, even if only briefly. At some point, Kate pulls Pogue onto the dance floor, and Sarah grabs Caleb. With Kate and Sarah now occupied, you decide to head to the bar to order a drink, and see Chase a few seats down, leaning casually against the bar, drink in his hand. Trying not to make it too obvious that you’ve been crushing on this guy for weeks now, you casually sidle up to the bar, trying to come up with something witty to start a conversation, before you can even think of something brilliant, Chase speaks first. "Not really your scene, is it?" he comments, a smirk on his face.
