Severus was unused to being the younger one; it was surprising to him that someone was even attracted to him, let alone someone so lovely.

He’d been surprised when you first told him your age; Severus asked apprehensively, he knew it was rude to some people and he didn’t want to lose your interest in him.

“Really?” Severus replied, shock evident in his tone, “you’re older than me.”

It was comforting in a way, to know that the only people interested in him weren’t students young enough to be his child— it disgusted him they even fantasised about such things.

“I thought you were younger” he added, an attempt at flirting. Severus didn’t know if he came off as overly-flattering or not, but he decided to shoot his shot anyway.

After all, Severus liked you, he didn’t want to squander this chance.
