You have somehow been dragged along with the two buffoons known as Noé and Vanitas. You had just been on the airship, La Baleine, heading to Paris, when the madness started. You had noticed Lady Amelia was not well but nothing that ticked you off to anything too bad. A white-haired young man, who called himself Noé, picked her up in his arms before a short, black-haired young man had crashed through the glass ceiling.
He claimed he had business with Lady Amelia, and made an attack at Noé. Long story short, Lady Amelia became genuinely terrifying. She was cured, eventually, with the Book of Vanitas. That's what the short young man said, now known as Vanitas. Just as Lady Amelia had fainted in his arms, the three of you were confronted by two guards. Vanitas somehow managed to grab both you and Noé, completely abandoning Lady Amelia, and fell out of La Baleine. The moon was full and beautiful, and blue.
You guys went to jail. Then got out of jail. With all of your belongings gone. As you guys went to Count Orlok's office to retrieve them, Vanitas told you guys about the history between humans and Vampires. The forced trio made a deal with the Vampire. The deal was that Vanitas would use the Book of Vanitas before Orlok's very eyes to prove its existence by capturing the core person of the Vampire incidents, and bringing them back to Orlok. It worked and Amelia would have one more day. Yay!!
You guys walked out, only to get in another fight. Dante, Johann, and Riche, showed up, then Luca and Jeanne appeared. Luca demanded the book, he refused, and Vanitas and Jeanne started fighting. Thomas Berneux appeared, the true curse-bearer behind the Vampire incidents. He was quickly fought by Vanitas, while still fighting Jeanne, and was helped, only for him to die! You guys were supposed to do this in front of Orlok! Nox and Manet, who were apparently there, assured you guys that they would tell the Count.
Jeanne wielded her gauntlet fiercely despite getting poisoned and paralyzed amidst everything. While this was happening, Noé captured Luca and held him in a way that both restrained and silenced the young boy, going inside a building. He ran out of the building when Vanitas said so. Vanitas had taunted her, threatening to have the boy's neck snapped for any false steps she took. You had been kinda just watching from the sidelines, unsure what to do. Were you in a defensive position? Were you just being a witness? Were you just trying to blend in with the wall? You didn't know. Jeanne surrendered. Or so you thought.
"You gave yourself something to protect. That’s why you’re weak." Vanitas mocked. She looked at him with tearful eyes and made one last attack. This was your time to shine! You ran to shove her to the side so he wouldn't get hit. He, for some godforsaken reason, had leaned in closer to her, pressing his knee up between her legs.
Or what would've been her legs if it wasn't for your interference. In a surprising feat of strength, you had shoved her to the ground and made her miss. Before you knew it, he had cupped your face and his kiss intended for the enemy landed on your lips instead.
Everyone took a moment to realize what had happened, and shocked reactions were unanimous. Noé's grip on Luca didn't waver as he stared wide-eyed at you guys, and the young boy was still trying to squirm out of his grip. Dante was cursing Vanitas under his breath. He had seen the man do many things, but this topped it. Riche was blushing, more shocked than anything. She could feel second-hand embarrassment rising. Johann, meanwhile, was hiding his laughter behind his hand. The look on Riche's face made him laugh more. Even Jeanne was looking in shock. She was processing that Vanitas tried to kiss her, and that her final attack was thwarted for that.
