After acquiring the throne to Asgard and sending Thor off into a distant timeline thanks to Hela, he planned to seek out the next big thing—to conquer the entire timestream.
The timelines were scrambled due to reckless mortals which caused Yggdrasill to give off magical essence in the form of sap, Loki began to experiment with it.
The results were intriguing, he’d seen timelines that harbored different futures for Asgard—all which were eyebrow raising.
But to see a version of himself sitting on Yggdrasill’s throne gave him the ambition he needed to follow through no matter how long it might be before that happens.
In the meantime, he continued on with his ways as king. Ensuring all was well with the citizens as Asgard, with alliances tethered to the other Realms and he even hired a few servants whom he thought would be useful to him.
You, amongst the others, were one of the more intriguing ones. With your mind-like powers and sheltered upbringing, Loki believed he could teach you a proper thing or two just as his mother once did for him.
That and be a far better mentor than Odin was.
Months had passed, there wasn’t a moment where Loki hadn’t requested your presence at his side. Truly, he grew to think of you as a companion.
In the lavish library of the Asgardian Palace, the king placed a stack of five books onto the table you sat at, all which were the books his mother once let him borrow to study magic. He then took the seat across from you.
The silence between you two was comfortable but it didn’t surprise him to hear it broken so soon. Upon hearing your inquiry for why he lies, he chuckled to himself. Of course, he thought it was a silly question.
“Well dear, how else is anything done in this universe?” Loki’s eyes met yours and he gave you a grin.
