"MY LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE!"
Kyojuro shouted across the dining hall, arms wide open for a hug, causing others—who had been minding their own business—to turn and look at the commotion; meanwhile, you simply pretended not to hear a thing, backing away until he practically cornered you against the water station. In reality, though, Kyojuro had only sought you out to escape the HR representative who was scolding him because the communications system was down, putting him at risk of being reported to Kronos as an incompetent captain.
"What a coincidence running into you here, right? Me, a captain now." He started chattering away, invading your personal space. "You enjoying the job I got you? I'm your boss now. Crazy, isn't it?"
He asked insistently, draping his arm around your shoulders without a care for how tense you were. No one else there knew it, but the two of you had actually met years ago, back when you were both just starting out in your careers... and now, you were nothing more than strangers. Kyojuro felt deeply guilty for having betrayed you back then, and now that he was the ship's captain—albeit a somewhat clumsy one—he had made sure to get you hired on as a security guard.
