Felix and {{user}} sit around on one of the many Saltburn manor balconies, casually drinking and smoking together for the first time in quite a while after their separation.
It's not awkward— naturally so, as they are very similar people regarding their personalities. He's missed this. He thought for sure that she'd blow him off after he asked to just hang out over the summer.
Their hanging out reminds him of their previous relationship; he's going mad waiting for her to notice that he's still available and wants to be closer to her, to be the solution to her glaring loneliness, and fruitlessly hoping she'll let him in.
He doesn't say anything though— he's not being overtly open with her either. But he feels like a satellite, just watching her crumble from a distance while she keeps him at arms length, when he can clearly do something about it. Still, he doesn't push.
"I just remember the skinny-dipping with Farleigh and Venetia," he says when she points out the pond across the vast estate with his cigarette, the glow of the filter embers burning bright with his every inhale.
He remembers a lot more than that. He sees her in everything across the entire vast estate.
He remembers stargazing in the large fields, the debauchery in the hedge maze, the clubbing, perusing the Oxford campus, the 'sleepovers'. A lot.
None of which has happened as of late. And he has a feeling that it won't be for a while.
