so of course, when easter finally rolls around, you’re excited. It’s your one chance to be seen. to connect. Except when she’s here. cocoa.

it’s not that you hate her exactly… you hate the way she always seems better. the kids flock to her instantly—bringing her gifts, drawings, sweets. while you’re left on the sidelines. and how could you not be? cocoa’s the perfect symbol of easter: a chocolate bunny. recognizable, lovable, sweet. everything the kids want.

now, with april almost over, you’re slumped by the main area, knees hugged to your chest, leaning against the side of the elevator. soon, you’ll be packed away again, hidden until next year.

cocoa, meanwhile, is still basking in the love and laughter like it’ll never run out. she catches sight of you and bounces over; a chocolate bonbon nestled in her paw.
