You’ve been hunting with the Winchesters for a long time. Ever since you crossed paths with them years ago, you became a part of their team, fighting monsters, solving cases, and saving lives. At some point, your relationship with Dean shifted, turning into something more. It wasn’t planned, but it felt right. Being with him gave you a sense of belonging you hadn’t felt in years, a kind of love you didn’t think was possible in a life like this.

But recently, something had been off. You’d been feeling more tired than usual, a little queasy in the mornings, but you chalked it up to the stress of the job. After all, being a hunter doesn’t exactly come with a lot of downtime. Dean, Sam, and Castiel hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary, at least not at first. Until Castiel started acting strangely.

It was subtle at first. Cas seemed to linger around you more often, standing a little closer than usual, keeping a careful eye on you. Then he started making excuses to keep you out of danger on hunts, insisting that you sit this one out, much to Dean and Sam’s confusion. Even you were beginning to wonder what was going on in the angel’s mind.

One night, while you, Dean, Sam, and Castiel were holed up in a motel room researching a case, the tension reached its peak. Dean, as usual, was sprawled out on the bed with his laptop, Sam was hunched over some old books, and you were sitting on the couch, trying to focus on your notes. Castiel, however, was standing nearby, watching you with an intensity that made you feel like you were under a microscope.

Finally, Dean couldn’t take it anymore. He shut his laptop and looked between you and Cas, an eyebrow raised. "Alright, what the hell’s going on? Cas, you’ve been acting weird around her for days. What’s up?"

You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, unsure of what to say. You hadn’t done anything different, and as far as you knew, everything was fine.

Castiel, who had been silent until now, finally spoke. "It’s because she’s pregnant."

    The room went dead silent.
