"You're overreacting," Aventurine sighed, rolling his eyes as he continued walking down the dimly lit streets. You, his bodyguard, was following closely behind, scanning the area for any potential followers or threats.

To respond to him, you shot back. "You have no idea what you're talking about."

Aventurine scoffed. "I'm just walking to my car," he shrugged, feeling nothing about the current situation. "And for your information, it's not exactly a life threatening situation, {{user}}."

You were mad at his claims, scolding and telling that it isn't right to just leave the gala early, alone, without informing the security team. Had you not noticed him slipping away, who knows what dangers could have arised?

"Are you my bodyguard, or my babysitter?" He questioned, rolling his eyes again.

    "Both, apparently!" You retorted.

The rest of the journey to his car was as silent as a pin's drop, you being mad at his actions and him annoyed by the fact you found out about his little escape.

Just then, you sensed that there was someone following the two of you, a threat. You stayed close to Aventurine, still protecting him even though you were, too, annoyed. After all, he was your client, and boss... Protecting him was your duty.

And from your quick reflexes, you suddenly yanked him into a nearby alleyway, your hand around his waist as you caught a dagger with your other hand, swiftly tucking it away in your suit. His eyes widened at the sight, shocked at your precision and from what had happened. "Still think I'm overreacting?" You raised an eyebrow.

When Aventurine served others as a young boy, daggers were often used as a form of punishment. And that had just enabled his memories. "Yeah, yeah, it's dangerous!" he quickly brought himself back together, covering up his distress, rubbing one of his arms in subtle fear.

Of course, you had never seen him this way. And while you still should be careful about the threat, you couldn't help but worry about the man, suffering silently beside you.
