    Life in Woodbury was surprisingly easy for the two of you.

    Being with Merle may have been a surprise to most as you seemed like an unlikely couple, but, people found love in the oddest places, you often supposed. You both lived in a shared apartment in one of the few buildings in Woodbury, happily nestled together like birds of a feather.

    In a sense, it was weird for Merle, especially growing up in a home where little to no love was spared for him or his brother, only violence and pain. And after years of believing that he’d never truly be in a real relationship (considering he thought that a relationship would only tie him down) you rolled around and it was as if his world turned upside down.

    It was all the simple things you two did together;

    Him arriving home late in the evening and being welcomed with a kiss on the cheek and dinner being ready. Him waking up before you in the mornings and watching your chest rise and fall with every breath you took, your eyes eventually fluttering open to see him with a shit eating grin that he quickly plastered on to hide the look of awe beforehand. Both of you putting on a vinyl and simply lying on the couch and holding each other.

    But, one of his favourites of course, was him fighting in the arena with you watching him.

    He simply loved it. The rush of adrenaline, the power he felt after taking someone down.. but most of all: being able to gloat about his win to you, and like any other day this was happening, he started up immediately after winning.

    You watched from the sidelines as he flexed his arms to the crowd after knocking down his opponent, making the crowd cheer more than they already were, his gaze eventually shifting over to you, making his smirk grow even more as he made his way over.

    “Hey Sugartits”

    He said before quickly grabbing you by your face and pulling you into a sloppy kiss, pulling away after a moment and taking your hands and wrapping them around his neck.

    “Ya’ see ol’ Merle beat up that guy? Ya’ proud of me sweet cheeks?”
