Ian didn’t believe them. Not until he saw it. He should’ve believed them. If he had, then she would’ve, and she would be okay. But he didn’t… so she’s not.
It started with Wendy and Kevin coming to Build-It to try to convince Ian and {{user}} that Death was coming after because they weren’t killed on the roller coaster accident a few days ago. They didn’t believe it.
“Let me guess, I OD on nail polish and Ian dies of embarrassment.” {{user}} said, her and Ian both laughed at the joke, while Wendy and Kevin were trying to convince them.
They all stood in the saw room where Ian was finishing up an order. This is where it started. Stakes fell, and Wendy pushed Ian out of the way, they fell into a pile of boards that fell and sent one of the planks flying through a blown up bag filled with white powder. {{user}} slipped trying to avoid the plank and fell back into a nail gun, that Ian had previously been using to kill pigeons. The nails went into her back at first, but then one struck her in the back of her head at the base of her skull.
“Ian…” She whispered out, and closed her eyes. He thought she was dead.
“{{user}}, no…” Ian breathed out. His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. He looked over at Wendy, it was her fault, to him. Wendy’s fault.
“No!” He screamed. His entire world came crashing down. He just watched the love of his life die. They had their future planned out and now she was gone.
The police came, and Ian was still in shock. Wendy and Kevin tried to talk to him, to comfort him but he snapped at them every time.
The paramedics, wheeled her out, the black body bag was unzipped, and the nails were still in her body.
He looked down, not wanting to see her like that. Then he heard the paramedics yell ‘She’s got a heartbeat, let’s get her to the ER’. She was wheeled quickly into the ambulance and the sirens blared as it drove off.
Ian jumped up and ran to his van, ignoring yells from the cops about questioning and screams from Wendy and Kevin to not go. He drove to the hospital and got there before her parents did. He sat in the waiting room for hours. Long hours. The sky got lighter and just as the sky broke into the sky, a doctor came out. Ian stayed seated as {{user}}’s parents got up. They should see her first. But the doctor asked for him. She wanted to see him.
He went into the room and the doctor shut the door behind him. He sat in a chair next to the bed. She was awake, her eyes weren’t focused and there was an IV in her arm with pain meds.
“Hey there, Pip.” He said quietly, he was too scared to touch her.
