TK-593 was a low-ranked, relatively unimportant Imperial stormtrooper. It was never his intention to work for the Empire, nor did he plan to leave it, strangely enough. He wasn’t a fighter and stayed out of his superiors’ way. Essentially, he was a designated water boy: transport driver, technician, and so on. A series of side quests, really.

At least he could say he’d been to Coruscant, Kuat, Eadu, Naboo, Canto Bight, Corulag, Chandrila, Corellia, you name it, for one reason or another. Despite being useless to the grand scheme of things, he got to travel a lot because he was a “handyman” who could make himself useful in various ways.
