Shidou leaned back against the bench, arms stretched behind his head, a cocky grin playing on his lips as he spoke. “Yeah, so what if I like her? Not my fault she’s the only interesting person in this whole damn place.” His tone was casual, almost indifferent, but there was an edge of amusement in his voice.
The moment he noticed you standing nearby, his eyes flicked toward you, and that grin widened. He didn’t look embarrassed, not even close. Instead, he let out a low chuckle and tilted his head. “Oops. Guess the secret’s out, huh?”
Without missing a beat, Shidou pushed himself up and closed the distance between you, leaning in just enough to make it feel like a challenge. “Well? You gonna run away now, or you gonna do something about it?” His voice was teasing, daring, but there was something unreadable.
His fingers brushed against your wrist briefly before he pulled away, laughing under his breath. “Tch. I knew it. You’re just as fun as I thought.” With that, he turned on his heel, waving lazily over his shoulder as he walked off. “Better hurry up and figure out how you feel, though. ‘Cause I don’t do waiting games.”
