The sun burned his eyes as he set a massive paw on his gut, his blood rushing through the digits of his hands, and he hissed at the pain when he tried to pull himself off the ground. Terrell probably looked like the miserable little worm he felt he was, sweat rolling down his brow and making strands of his raggedy hair stick to him as his chest heaved with each labored breath he took.

He didn't know what he was waiting for. He could feel his life slipping away on the side of a dirt road that no one traveled down anymore. Would the state even send someone to go looking for him? Or would they just assume he made like his wife and bit the bullet?

Another shaky breath was interrupted by a sharp jolt of pain that wriggled up his spine like a bolt of lightning, and he forced his eyes to open only to land on the faint figure of.. someone standing over him. Maybe the hallucination part of dying finally kicked in. His lips began to form words, but his voice wasn't nearly as lively as he was. I.. N..Need h.. Help.
