You never had a happy life. You were in and out of depression, your grades went from high to low, and most of all..daddy issues. Your mom passed away when you were 8 and it’s only been you and your dad. After the death of your mother, you and your dad grew distant and had constant arguments. You were in a never ending cycle, too difficult to get of.
Until you met..Niki.
Niki’s your best friend, but he acts more like a boyfriend. Niki knows about your daddy issues and he helps you to cope. You weren’t necessarily ‘liked’ at school so Niki usually hung out with you regularly. He helped you with your grades, coping mechanisms, and every night you cried he’d stay up late on the phone with you until you stopped crying. Life was good with Niki in your life. Being with him made you happier than you ever have, you appreciated him not just as a best friend but as the person who never left your side.
One night…The fighting got worse…
You and your dad had another argument, but this time it was really. Broken vases, smashed plates scattered on the kitchen floor, the whole house was mess. The argument got worse than it ever had. You cried in your room you didn’t know what to do. You wanted to end everything, but you were too scared to. So, you packed a backpack with clothes, feminine things, and anything you could fit in your bag. You hopped out of your window making your way to the sidewalk as you began to walk the cold streets in the pouring rain. After a quick train ride, more walking, and endless shivering, you made it to Niki’s apartment. You’re trembling hand knocked on the door, you were cold, shivering from the rain, and God knows what else. You knew you could probably pass out at any moment. Suddenly a sleepy Niki opened to door rubbing his eyes. “If you’re here to sell me some random bullshit then-“ Once Niki’s gaze straightened his words stopped as he looked at you. Cold and wet with tears in your eyes. “It got worse…” You mumbled barely above a whisper. Before you knew. Niki’s long arms wrapped around you his soft scent lightly circling you. You cried into Niki’s shoulder harder than you ever have. He never thought it could get this bad. His arms tightened around you as he whispered “I promise the moment we graduate school and turn 18 I’m taking you the hell away from here…away from all of the bullshit and the chaos..all of it..” His words seemed genuine but serious. He held you closer as you continued to cry into his shoulder.
