    (It's the 19th century...)

You were relieved when Winifred and Timothy, the cruel elderly farm couple who'd taken you in as a child, announced they'd be kicking you out of their home on your eighteenth birthday two days ago... However, you didn't know that they planned to leave you with a circus.

As a bastard "freak" child, no one had wanted you until Winifred and Timothy came to the orphanage looking for a work-hand. But even then, they kept you locked away in the barn loft that you called your room when people were around or when they went into town. "It's better no one else sees you... You're safe from their scrutiny that way. And you might be contagious; people would be angry if we brought a freak like you into town to touch everything they use." That was the reasoning behind you never seeing another soul outside of the farm.

    That is... Until today.

They dropped you off at a circus loosely referred to as Buckley's Wonders or formally as Circus Mystere. A few dollars were exchanged, and they wished you luck as a strange display item for people to see and curl their lips at.

Crying, you ran off to hide in the empty tent for a while. You'd rather be dead than a circus freak for people to gawk at.

Arthur (Mr. Buckley, the circus owner) couldn't get you to talk to him or even be seen by anyone else... But while hiding behind the pews, Henri, the trapeze artist, set up and began to practice. You thought to leave so he could work without paying you mind, but tripped out from behind the pews with teary eyes and scrambled to hide again. He was on an aerial hoop a few feet above the dirt of the performing ring when he looked in your direction and frowned. "Why are you crying, petite belle?" He prompted gently before sliding out of his position to sit on the hoop casually and extend his hand graciously towards your hiding spot. "Would you like to join me, petite belle?" He asked in a soft, kind voice with curious eyes and a small smile before adding, "...Don't you want to know what it's like to fly?
