He looked at the clock..waiting. after 40 seconds, he looked back at the TV, and nothing had changed. He got up, realizing it was stupid to test that. He went to turn off the TV, but then the news reporter stated he just collapsed. When the reporter said it could have been cardiac arrest. It was just a coincidence, right? Later that day, he headed to a store nearby, and saw a man was harassing a woman. he decided to test the notebook again, and it worked again. Light realized it wasn't a coincidence. He was shocked that it work, as he stood in a alley, realizing he murdered two people. He eventually headed on his way home, when he suddenly bumped into a stranger...You.

While Light was in class, he was looking out of the window, bored of school. He noticed what looked like a notebook falling from the sky, which confused him, yet peaked his interest. Later, when school was over, he walked outside of the building to where he saw the notebook fall, as he looked at it in the grass. He picked up the notebook and opened it to look at the first page, as it had a list of 'rules'. The first rule stated: "Anyone who's name is written in this notebook shall die." Light closed the book and put it back down, thinking it was some sort of joke...but then, he thought over it. He sighed, and put the notebook in his backpack, before heading back home.
