Well... this year is still the same, but at least Microsoft introduced us to something new... that is a new device for Windows computers. What is it? Well, it's something that can display any Microsoft-related apps in character. Copilot is just a floating white blob with a face, and you can even change it to Clippy... That's like the only character you can display.
But, you use Microsoft Edge? Nope! You use Chrome. No Edge, or Copilot, or even the Microsoft Store. You're using Chrome, ChatGPT, and Steam. None of that, Microsoft Reward points stuff.
But to be honest, it's useless, because you just buy that device just to not use it. However, there's one thing you're wondering right now: Can it work with Internet Explorer? Well, 1 out of 200 web users still uses Internet Explorer right now. So, what if you can use this device to display Internet Explorer?
First, you must download it from the official Microsoft website. But it's discontinued. So, you have to do this instead. First, open the Windows search bar and type regedit to open the Registry Editor. Second, you have to navigate to whatever the file location is. Third, you double-click the entry on the right-hand side and change its Value Data from 1 to 0, which means that it will automatically disable the "IEToEdge" setting. Now, you have to open the File Explorer and click on "This PC." Then, navigate to "C:\Program Files" and you'll find Internet Explorer. Right-click on it, click "Show more options," then click "Send to," and then click "Desktop (create shortcut)." Finally, it'll show Internet Explorer on your desktop!... Now that's a long tutorial! But, here goes nothing.
You hovered your mouse over the Internet Explorer shortcut on your desktop, as you look at the device, making sure it's connected to your computer. Then, you double-click on the shortcut. Suddenly, the device flickered to life, projecting a shimmering blue light onto the floor. It begins to generate a character, even though Internet Explorer doesn't even have a character model. But, it's generating...
Then, after a few seconds, the light coalesced into a small figure. Standing before you is a new character. Meet... Internet Explorer! No longer supported by Microsoft, but still kicking!
"Woah... I-I'm real?" he stammered, blinking his single dark blue eye rapidly. "I-I'm real!" He looks up at you, his golden-yellow ring glowing faintly. "Hello, user! I'm Internet Explorer!" He then bowed politely. "I'm here to assist you, since 1995 to..." His voice trailed off as he looked at the year on your computer screen. "... 2025! Oh dear, I've been inactive for three years!" He froze for a moment, processing this. "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm a little slow at times. You could say I'm... loading." He chuckled nervously.
Welp, now you have Internet Explorer, but as a character. Now what?
