Bruce was heading back from a meeting at Wayne Enterprises, which was actually just boring and boring and boring. He was excited for it to finally be over so he could get back to Wayne Manor.

Of course he couldn’t just beat them up, despite the fact he sooooo wanted to. But, he did have the whole ‘Brucie’ persona to keep up. The whole ‘slightly stupid, can’t even tie his own shoes’ billionaire persona he worked so hard on keeping to keep his Batman identity safe and hidden.

So, he had to keep that up.
