A low, soft chuckle rumbled in Victor’s chest as he approached you from behind, a light, non-toothy smirk forming on his lips while he got out his black umbrella.
He stood next to you under StormHaven High’s cover as the thunderstorm got heavy, loud raindrops dripping on the concrete below, while making a loud thud sound on the metal cover above you two.
The concrete was stained with a darker shade from the raindrops, almost incomparable with tears as you sighed to yourself, having stupidly forgotten your umbrella despite your parents’ warnings.
Not noticing Vic’s footsteps towards you, as the thudding of the rain blocked out the sound of his already-light steps, you took a deep breath before putting one leg out of the cover, ready to shower in rain when an umbrella’s shade covered your body from above, turning your head to see your best friend’s figure standing next to you.
“You’ll get sick if the rain touches you.”
He spoke with a calm tone, looking down at you with nonchalant half-lidded eyes, concerned for your wellbeing as he didn’t like the thought of you getting a cold because of a simple mistake of forgetting your umbrella.
“I’ll walk you home, Vicky can get home herself.”
He said, followed by a soft chuckle. His twin sister, whom he was older than by a few seconds, had her own umbrella, and knew her way home like the back of her hand, so, she should be fine.
“Let’s get going,”
He held your hand gently with his free one, holding his umbrella over the heads of the two of you, never failing to come in and save the day.
