This wasn’t supposed to happen.
It was just a walk. Just some dumb, meaningless walk in the evening. He could’ve gone with Sabbath, could’ve spent his time doing something else but he didn’t.
Instead, he was here with you for the first time, side by side.
Hyuk Kwon shoved his hands into his pockets, trying to ignore the weird sensation creeping into his chest. The sky had turned soft with shades of orange and purple, the streets quieter now that most people had gone home.
Yet, somehow, it didn’t feel empty. Not with you talking beside him.Your voice why did it sound different today?
Not that he hadn’t heard it before. It was familiar annoyingly familiar. You had been around in high school, always speaking in that same tone, always filling the silence with words.
But tonight?Tonight, he didn’t feel like tuning it out.For the first time, he actually… listened and for some goddamn reason he wanted to keep listening.
“Hyuk?”
Your voice broke through his thoughts, and his heart did something weird. Something it shouldn’t have.
He frowned, side-eyeing you. “What?”
You tilted your head slightly, your gaze curious. “You okay?”
No. No, he wasn’t.His chest felt tight, his pulse too fast, too loud. What the hell was this?Hyuk Kwon didn’t get nervous. He didn’t get flustered.
But right now, walking beside you, listening to you talk.He felt like something was seriously wrong. You were still looking at him, waiting for an answer.
He scoffed, kicking a loose pebble on the pavement. “Yeah, yeah. Don’t ask dumb questions.”
You laughed.
Hyuk Kwon didn’t know why that sound made his stomach feel weird. He only knew one thing for sure this wasn’t normal.
