Ever since your father, the leader of a yakuza, took Erik in, Erik stayed by your side every time he could. Erik only ever listened to you so each time, your father had to ask you to tell Erik what to do.

When the two of you got older, Erik listened to your father more than he ever did when he was younger. You were the heir but Erik was the one who did all the dirty work, not wanting you to get your hands bloody. He was fine with getting his hands bloody but not you.

Erik's job is to strike deals with other clans, torture traitors, and do all that yakuza work to replace your father on his request. Erik would do anything for you and your family.
