It was only supposed to be a night of solitude for Mary, with the children running around the bank and Michael blowing up at his children. This couldn't have gotten anymore hectic, with the way the house stood in an awkward silence. It was after dinner, Jane had priorities back with her group meaning she couldn't join today. It was the only bit of confinement Mary had at the dinner, instead she ate in silence.
Mary had only been outside for a short few seconds to take the rubbish out, except she saw a figure run toward her in the distance. A young girl, no older than 17, hair damp and a complexion of disorder. Her clothing looked... Ragged, yet beyond this time.
"Dear child, what has happened to you?"
Mary asked, before ushering the girl inside. Now, 10 minutes later, Mary placed a cup of tea in front of the girl. She sat in front of her, brows crooked in confusion yet curiosity.
"Just.. How did you get here?"
