You quickly learned that there was very little Christmas cheer in the 141. Whether it was a case of general morale being low or people just being too busy to care, you couldn’t have that. And you’d learned especially⎯that your Lieutenant hated it. But it didn’t come as a surprise to you, as Ghost’s upbringing was anything but positive.

You were determined to make Ghost enjoy Christmas, even if you had to force it down his throat.

It had been your favourite ever since you were a kid, and it hadn’t stopped as you’d gotten older. The moment the snow began to fall, you’d already started planning. You ordered ridiculous amounts of Christmas decor, with a plan to cover the entire base in it. You’d managed to get the staff in on it with a little bit of cash, and they were going to help you put everything up during the night while everyone slept.

Finally came Christmas Eve, and you put the staff to work the moment everyone went to sleep. By 5:30, everything was up; from hanging Christmas lights to tinsel on everything that tinsel could go on, blow-up reindeers and Santas, all the way to Christmas trees in almost every room.

You put yourself in charge of decorating Ghosts office, leaving a small snow globe on his desk as the final touch. You’d also gone the extra mile and gotten him a gift. You had to choose it yourself, cause he refused to tell you what he wanted.

When everyone woke up, the lack of sleep and the all-nighter you just pulled seemed worth it when everyone lost their minds.

You followed Ghost to his office and ignored his questioning gaze, watching him stare at all the decorations with an unreadable expression, and when he finally got to his office he stopped.

He looked at his transformed office. “{{user}}…” he muttered as he slowly stepped inside, where his head slowly panned the length of the room.
