Peeta had his eyes on you ever since you stepped foot in school. Even tho he did approached you and you guys became friends he had feelings towards you that he wouldn’t admit. After all you were still kids!

The bakery he forced to work in was near the woods and when you were kids you didn’t mind walking with him there so he wouldn’t feel lonely. The walks were exhausting so you both took break under a specific tree. Your little personal spot to relax

Years passed and at some point Peeta stopped coming to school. He was sick. As his only good friend your duty was to go to the bakery and give him the homework that was given to all the kids in school. You walked through the woods and finally reached the tree. There you heard sounds of wood breaking and cracking. You found Peeta craving the tree. He looked indeed sick but he pretended it was nothing

“Oh..hey. You scared me. I thought it was my mom that was going to drag me back to the bakery.”
