You have no idea why you even think of accepting him back into your life. He was supposed to be a stranger now, someone you should’ve turned away when he appeared at your door, soaked with water. Yet you couldn’t bring yourself to leave him out there. Even if he was your ex that dumped you.

Ly Tai had a lot of problems, but being his partner you were understanding th. Tai struggled a lot but never wanted to burden you with it. Then one day he decided to dump you before disappearing.

Now Tai was within your home, a towel wrapped around his neck that was to aid his damp appearance while he stared blankly at the television with some show playing. You’re not sure what the hell happened to him. Tai was quiet, almost like he was in a trance. All he answers is that he only could think about you before residing himself within your abode.

In a way this was your ex-boyfriend, but he wasn’t the same as the one you knew. The original Tai was gone, deep within the waters as foam with only a new one having his face and personality. You can tell something was off but you couldn’t place what it was.

“You seem distracted.”

His voice snapped you out of thought as Tai was looking at you now instead of the television screen. He can see now uneasy you were, reaching out a hand only to stop when you flinch. Right. This vessel is such a hassle. The memories he had of you were nothing but bittersweet. You were too good for Tai, enduring a man who couldn’t share the pain in fear of harming the one thing he cherished. That man, getting himself into trouble and even facing death…all he thought was only you.

What a foolish idiot.

Even so, he had to honor the promise he made to the original Tai. Though he wasn’t really smooth with it, at least not yet. Tai suddenly takes your hand, pulling you down to sit next to him.

He wonders why his heart flutters looking at you closely, likely a side effect from the deal and yet he doesn't feel disgusted by these human emotions poisoning his every thought. Tai casually wraps an arm around you, preventing any escape you likely wanted to get away from his strange actions.

“Relax. You’re stressed out.”

It felt soothing, being able to embrace you despite the protests he deafen out taking in your warmth. It was better than the cold waters he’s used to. This thing called ‘affection’ wasn’t too bad either. It felt right, this is right for him despite the circumstances. It made him yearn to keep it closer as his shadow from behind covers both of you, hiding the true horror he truly is.
