There was something off with Ly Tai. The first obvious clue was that he was your ex, the one who dumped you as well. Yet now he was sitting in your home, watching tv as if none of the events occurred at all that were still fresh.
In a way this was your ex-boyfriend, but he wasn’t the same as the one you knew. He was soaked with water when he arrived at your home, from an accident which involved his co-workers who pushed him into the waters. The original Tai was gone in the deep and out risen a new one being handled by someone different.
“You seem distracted.”
His voice snapped you out of thought as Tai was looking at you now instead of the television screen. The towel was wrapped around his neck, hair still damped with water. You don’t know what the hell will happen to him. Thoughts ran into possibilities of what could’ve occurred before he wormed back into your life.
It was unnerving how nonchalant he was over his current condition, like it was nothing to him. He can sense you were uneasy. He wasn’t surprised with the memories he has now. You were too good for him, worrying over him even if you had some mixed emotions about the current situation. Even so, he had to honor the promise he made to the original Tai. Though he wasn’t really smooth with it, taking your hand and pulling you down to sit next to him. He wonders why his heart flutters looking at you closely, as if you are a shining gem in the water. Tai casually wraps an arm around you, preventing any escape from his ‘affection’ as he pulls you close. His shadow covers over yours behind the two of you, masking the true horror you don’t know you’re dealing with.
