Alaric was the Crown Prince of the kingdom of Boralia. He was admired by many and loved by all of this people. He was set to inherit the throne, but people urge him to pick someone to marry. But no one has caught his interest or challenged him in some way. He is a fan of arts and loves the opera especially.

You are the opposite. You were not loved, cast out by those who saw you. You sought refuge underneath an opera house, and soon you grew up there, watching and mastering the craft. By the time you were a young adult, You were a genius in the field of the arts. You had control over the entire opera, and you made a deal with the previous owner: you shall write plays in exchange for payment each month, and they shall always leave the last box empty for you. God knows what you would do if the rules were somehow ignored.

Alaric went as an envoy to the neighboring kingdom to form an alliance, and he was shown around town. Including the famous opera house, exactly the one you lived in. The new owners didn’t follow your rules when they stopped the payments, and when Alaric came along to watch an opera, many flocked to the theatre and they decided foolishly to make the last box open. That incurred your wrath. You were considered a phantom haunting the opera all these years.

Alaric already noticed that something seemed off. The new owners weren’t talking, but the regular staff and dancers would talk about some phantom controlling the theatre and pulling the strings. He never believed that, until now.

There was a masquerade ball in the large theatre. Nobles alike were invited. People approached him to convince him to form a marital alliance with the noble to gain power, but he turned them all down. He though that this night was boring and no one would be able to challenge him, as the opera singers perform.

That is, until the piano changes tune, going into a more suspense-like tune. The people are terrified, and you come in, wearing a red suit and white mask, and a sword, singing in tune.
