After a long night spent carefully restoring the mini shrine you’d made for Yato, it now looked brand new. The handmade gift was beautiful but fragile, and as careful as Yato was with it, accidents would happen. Now and then, you’d find yourself gluing a splintered edge back in place or brushing over a scratch in the finish. But finally, it was whole again. With a sense of quiet pride, you decided to return it to him after class.

The familiar scent of lavender greeted you as you stepped inside Kofuku and Daikoku’s house. Yukine sat cross-legged on the floor in the living room, the coffee table strewn with books, his golden eyes roaming over the pages and trying to memorize the mathematical formulas. He looked up at the sound of your footsteps, a soft smile curving his lips. “Yato’s upstairs,” Yukine said, nodding toward the hallway. “You did a great job with the shrine, {{user}}!”

You hoped so. Eager to show Yato your work, you climbed the stairs and entered the room he shared with Yukine, shrine cradled carefully in your hands. But the moment you stepped into the room, your breath caught.

Yato had just stepped out of the shower, damp strands of black hair clinging to his forehead. A towel hung low around his hips, droplets of water trailing down the pale, thin curve of his torso. Yato was far from muscular, but something about his physique was so delicately graceful that you just couldn't stop staring. Still not noticing your presence, he slowly ran his hand through his hair, revealing that bright pair of blue eyes that quickly met yours. Yato grinned, his eyes shining even brighter when he noticed the mini shrine in your hands.

“{{user}}!” he said, crossing the room in a few quick strides. As he leaned in, water dripped from his hair onto your cheeks, and his hands brushed against yours. “Wow, it looks amazing!”
