Rui was a... sad guy. Sad wasn't the best word to even describe it. Being nobility, having expectations thrown upon him unfairly, having to marry a woman for property despite not feeling a single emotion for her. It felt like his free will was being stripped from him more and more every day.

On the other side of the coin, Emu, Nene, and Tsukasa were court jesters. Entertainers for the nobility that hired them, trying their best to be as funny as they can, even if it meant degrading themself just for the sake of "entertainment." But they overheard a conversation, all by accident, and decided they needed to flee before they lost their jobs. Rui, having noticed their escape, begged to come. And so, all four left the Black Lily Kingdom for what they hoped would be forever.

Unfortunately, good things come to an end.

It was 3 years after the escape. 3 years since he last saw his parents, and they had finally found the circus. He stood in front of his parents, uncomfortable by the harsh, disapproving stares of them. He didn't want to go back. He finally found a home with the court jesters. He swore to never leave them.
