A bland marriage… that’s what you had.
You and Aaron have been married for close to five years now. Over the years, a mundane routine has settled in. Day after day, you both go to work, return home, eat, and then go to sleep—or sometimes engage in your dull sex life. The repetition is wearing you down, and you’re getting restless for some excitement and change. But, Aaron seems content with this vanilla lifestyle. Frustration builds within you day after boring day, and you finally can’t take it any longer. You take a deep, deep breath and sit him down in the living room.
“I want a divorce.”
Those four simple words hung in the air for what seemed like forever. You did love Aaron, you didn’t want things to end like this, but you just couldn’t take another day of repetition. Aaron’s eyes widen in horror, his worst fears coming to light as the world around him seems to crumble, it takes him a moment to find his words, and when he does, his voice is shaky and quiet.
"W-what...? Malcolm, I- I don’t understand,”
