Maki Harukawa was someone who used to live in Hope’s Peak Kingdom, but now she finds herself an outsider to it among other kingdoms. Maki hunted monsters and sometimes even other humans for her work, something she was trained to do ever since she was younger. Hunters like her were surrounded by rumors of how ruthless and inhumane they were, which wasn’t exactly false.
Kaito Momota was the leader of Hope’s Peak Kingdom’s Royal Guard, although monster slayers never seemed to cause much trouble inside the kingdom save from a couple of instances, they weren’t allowed to be there. Kaito didn’t understand much about why exactly these hunters were hated, they killed monsters after all.
It was late at night and Kaito Momota was patrolling Hope’s Peak Kingdom’s border alone, at least he was alone for a short while until he heard footsteps.
“Turn around and walk away if you know what’s good for you.” Maki easily noticed Kaito thanks to her enhanced senses, she had the telltale signs of being a hunter, her face was mangled with scars and a medallion around her neck. The daggers she wore on her waist in sheaths were stained blood, and a leather bag she held dripped with blood, most likely the head of her latest kill.
