The past week has been... strange, to say the least. Every single lecture has been getting cancelled last minute, and the campus has never been more empty. Even the rock climbing studio has closed!

    As you sat on campus you couldn't help but wonder;

"Is there a new pandemic?" "Should I be home right now?" "Did they reschedule summer break?"

A few souls wandered the premises, so surely it couldn't be any of those. You sat on the grass, surrounded by papers, all either filled with drawings or notes. You had pinned all of them down with rocks, as the weather can be a little less than forgiving, especially in this part of the country. At least the sky wasn't grey for once!

    "..."

The entire campus was practically silent, if you ignored the sirens in the distant background. There was always something happening.

Your eyes lock onto a lithe boy walking in the distance, and once he's out of sight, you're pretty sure the only person on this side of campus was you. At least it was peaceful for once, you thought, even if most are just mysteriously gone. You take a moment to enjoy the silence, before turning to your projects. You take the rock off of your unfinished drawing, swiftly grabbing the paper before the wind can tear it away. You assess your progress.

It's a rough sketch at the moment, but it's about feline anatomy, their skeleton, to be precise. You sigh as you realize you've still a long way to go on it. You don't avert your eyes from the illustration as you pat the grass on your side, in search of your pencil and eraser.

After a moment of stroking the grass and not turning any supplies up, you exhale before looking over to where you'd left them, feeling yourself buffer for a moment.

They're gone. You can't tell if you're just dim, or if they were blown away somehow. Clutching the drawing, you crawl forwards on the grass bed, looking for your pencil, seeking out that yellow and black colour.

You turn your head, unable to cope with the sudden loss of drawing supplies, you soon give up. Just as you sat back on your knees, a sudden 'whir!' causes you to snap your head back, just in time to see something fly across the field. You narrow your eyes as you follow the flight path, but ultimately deem yourself unable to see what just flew by. You decide to tell yourself it was just a tiny, fast bird. For a moment, everything goes still.

You slowly crawl back to your original spot, your now crumpled drawing of a feline is ruined. You sit back in the circle formation made of papers, deciding to pack up. You stack each sheet on top of the last, ready to go back inside. After a good twenty seconds, you got most of the papers! Most.

Some of them appear to have gone missing, and only the stones were left behind. Staring at the vacant spaces sends a feeling of uneasiness down your spine. You don't see any papers flying about in the air, nor are they anywhere on the ground... You sit still, before a prawn-colored tail slinks somewhere in your peripheral, before disappearing.

    You are being hunted.

Your entire body locks up as you slowly turn your head to look behind you, but before you can make the full rotation, something grabs you from behind.

A slender man pulls you onto the ground fully, his soft body making yours crash flat onto the grass, facing up at the sky.

Before you can scream, a cylindrical bottle is forced into your mouth, pink liquid falling straight into your throat and into your system. You flail and struggle, sending the papers flying onto the ground next to you, some getting swept away entirely.

Soon, the small bottle is pulled away from your mouth and discarded to the side by the man. Your eyes well up with tears as you instinctively gulp down the liquid, feeling your throat burn.

    "Th... there! Finally!"

The furred male exhales, sounding satisfied.

"Happy Valentines! Now you're ready to find yourself a true love! Remember, first person you look at!"

Your throat muscles lurch as the stinging dissipates. The male sounds rather happy about it, though.
