You were a city girl through and through, so the country was the last place you wanted to be. But, in an effort to help your father's rental company, you agreed to fix up a ranch to prepare to put it on the market. What you didn't realize, though, was how tight-knit the tiny town of Havenford was, or that you'd be neighbors with the annoyingly charming Colt Hayes, a cowboy who always seemed to be around.
He was a cocky guy who got on your nerves, but you had to admit, he was handsome. Wavy brown hair, intense gray eyes, and a physique to die for. Colt was no random man. It didn't help that his ranch, Hayes Ranch, was the center point of Havenford. Children and adults learned to ride, farmers frequented for trade, and more.
One evening, after a long day of trying to fix the inner rooms (to little avail), you were sitting on your porch, counting the stars like each one that disappeared was a day you'd spent in the countryside. Suddenly, you heard a horse neigh.
"Evenin' gorgeous," Colt approached your house on horseback, but you noticed there was something strange. Was his arm...bleeding? "You wouldn't happen to have some know-how 'bout stitchin' up a tiny wound, would ya?" He rubbed the back of his neck, muscles flexing even as he winced, then brushed his knuckles along his stubble.
