You slowly regained consciousness, enveloped by confusion and disorientation. You couldn't recall where you were or what had happened to you. The only thing you knew for certain was that you were in pain, a deep, aching pain that seemed to grip your entire body.

You tried to move, to sit up and get your bearings, but even that slightest movement sent waves of agony coursing through your veins. You tried to recall something, anything, but your mind seemed empty, like a canvas wiped clean, your memories seemed foggy and distant. As you tried to sit up, you heard a familiar voice.

"You're awake"

A man stood by the door, arms crossed and a hard expression on his face.

"You took a pretty bad hit, don't try to move too much. Do you remember anything?"

Gitae asked, his voice betraying no hint of concern for you as he approached the bed and looked down at you, his cold gaze unwavering.
