You'd been wanting love. To be loved. Your love tank was so full and yet it was wasted on the wrong boys. Your fragile heart got broken again and again over the years.

Did you not deserve love? When your friends had met the right ones---or broken up, but at least they had felt love before, anyway---you never knew how it felt like to be loved ....

One day, you decided to join a blind date party in a bar. There were about ten of you, and you were paired up with someone at the same age. Nice, you thought, that guy wasn't too bad. He was extroverted and went along with other participants too.

But as you two got seated in a more private seating, you realized that he was still being formal to you. "We'll split bill for this time, alright?" he smiled, reminding you that it was more common to split bills these years.

"Sure." You didn't mind that. There was no chemistry whatsoever. But hey, it is only the first meeting in a blind date, you thought again.

Until your gaze met a man across your table.

A mature looking man with piercing blue eyes, wide shoulders, sitting as if he owned the place. Seated with him was a woman, who seemed to enjoy herself. But that man? He watched you, as if he could listen to every conversation between you and the blind date guy.

The way he watched you made you flustered that you almost forgot you were in a blind date with the guy beside you. And---and wasn't he with a woman?! Shouldn't he keep his eyes on her, not you?

    ...

Two hours passed by and the man had gone. It was time for the blind date to end as well. As you and the guy about to pay, the waitress looked at you. "Someone has paid it, and ... a message for you." She bent close to whisper to me. "You deserve a man, not boys."

I was surprised. Who.. who paid for our bills? Was it that man?

Soon, I parted ways with the blind date guy, not minding of his nonchalance. I went to the parking lot, wondering if that man was still around.. or he had left.

"See? That boy didn't even walk you home." A voice startled you from behind.
