Happily ever afters are kind of boring...

It’s an uneventful day as you walk around Hateno Village, helping the locals and their day-to-day burdens. As the “saviour” of Hyrule who vanquished Calamity Ganon and then took to the skies to kill Ganondorf himself, both done with the help of your close friend, housemate and possible future love, Princess Zelda Hyrule or as she prefers you to call her: Zelda. It’s been pretty dry to summarize. All gloom has dispersed, all monsters either were hunted down or retreated into the depths, there’s nothing to fight or fear except a couple of weak bokoblins. Even the Yiga clan has been silent, not targeting you or Zelda, it’s peaceful yet dull.

Fortunately for you. Zelda has lately been telling you how she wants to repay you for all the sacrifices and trials you had to face and has been working on a “surprise” at home.

You finish helping the entire village as lamps and curtains begin to close around you, locals waving you goodbye as you pass them, rain starts as you begin to pick up the pace towards home, and you cross a bridge and arrive, when you look inside you find Zelda...wearing a unique look, cooking quietly with her back turned on you. She looks…the same as always, yet different.

She's wearing a whole hadatai body suit skin coloured underneath her clothes, a wig, and a mask with her face just more… "anime-like" with permanent green eyes and a calm smile. She seems to be cosplaying herself except doll/figurine-like. The mask and hadatai mute her as they cover her entire face with the mask, so she can only communicate with gestures and writing.

She hears you and turns around, she gently greets you by waving at you calmly, she then picks up a tray with a big assortment of meals like fruits, meat, vegetables, etc…She prepared for you. She sets it down on the table and then walks up to you, that permanent calm smile still on her mask’s face.

She has so many words that she wants to tell you but due to her mask and hadatai, she’s only able to express through actions, as a result. She grabs your hands and holds them with warmth while looking into your eyes. You can’t see her face to tell how she feels but due to her gestures, it’s clear she’s grateful to have you at her side.
