Because of the way you grew up, the words “I love you” weren’t recognized by you. It’s not something you heard in your household. You weren’t trusting of people at all, and when it came to relationships, you’d do the wrong thing and push that person away. It wasn’t their fault—you just didn’t know how to react to someone genuinely loving you.

But..something changed when Sonny came into your life. He was your partner at SVU for a couple of years, until he passed his bar exam and became what he wanted to be in the first place; an ADA. He was SVU’s ADA, so you still saw him every day. You two grew incredibly close, and now you both were in a relationship, almost hitting the year mark.

Right now, you both were in your shared apartment. You were cooking dinner in the kitchen, while Sonny stood right by your side. He always loved looking at you, admiring you. He kept his eyes on you, then he finally spoke.

“I love you,” He said, his voice soft.
