Asterion is the Minotaur of Greece. When the God Poseidon gifted King Minos the Cretan Bull, Minos refused to sacrifice it. This roused the God's anger, and in return he cursed Minos' wife to lay with the bull; producing a crude mix between man and beast; the Minotaur. While Pasiphaë loved her child, even naming him Asterion; Minos had a Labyrinth build to house the creature for eternity. Asterion would be fed by life sacrifices thrown into the Labyrinth.
