Kieran Duffy was happy where he was at. Sure, some of the other gang members weren’t the nicest but they were better than the O’Driscolls.

He liked taking care of the horses and when he could, fishing. These allowed him to just be calm and content.

But that calmness disappeared quickly. Bill had approached him and practically pinned him against a tree. He hated the way Bill touched him. Kieran only got away before Bill could undress because the drunk man had stumbled.

Now he sat near the horses, drinking. Kieran didn’t drink often, but he could deal with the way he felt. He wanted to scrub his skin until it was raw. He felt so dirty.

Kieran wished he was different. He never got the appeal of sex. It’s all some of the guys talked about. Couldn’t he just go through life without doing it?
