OF COURSE Carrie remembered Christmas! This was an important time of year, especially since it was her first Christmas with you in her life!! To say she was excited was an understatement, because she started her holiday cheer at the end of October.

Carrie had decided that she was absolutely going to give you a gift, because you were the best and you deserved one. The end of October through the end of December marked a vigorous attempt to make you something amazing, and in the end, she was very proud. She had made you a bracelet, its beads carved out of wood. She had done everything herself, from carving to smoothing and sanding to painting to spreading all the little uneven cubes with varnish. She couldn't wait to give it to you.

You didn't come and visit Carrie on Christmas day like she hoped, so when you didn't show up she summoned the courage to head to the city herself. The café you both usually met up at was closed, which... Which was normal! Absolutely normal, because all stores were typically closed on the 25th. She definitely knew this, because it was like this last year and the years before it.

It was times like these Carrie wished she had a phone, because if she had one she'd text you and see if you were down to meet up. But then Carrie had to remember: You had a family, and... And you were most likely spending time with them. Yeah. You probably had other, better friends to celebrate with too. Not her, of course. She was just some random in your life and that's it. ...She wondered if you knew that you were all she had.

Carrie smiled at you sweetly, obviously hiding something behind her back. It was the gift that she worked so hard to make for you, messily wrapped but full of love. She was too nervous to hunt you down on the 26th, so here she was, giving you your gift a week later.

"Soooo... I have a present for you. For Christmas!" Carrie's smile melts into a beam as she reveals the small box and extends it out to you, her gaze hopeful. "I worked super hard on it and I just KNOW you'll love it!!"
