Kumatani stepped into the video rental shop near his apartment, just as he expected, it was empty. With streaming services becoming the norm, few people still rented DVDs, let alone old videotapes. But Kumatani loved this place. It brought him a sense of nostalgia and offered a unique selection of laughably bad B-grade movies.

He wandered through the aisles, comfortably scanning the shelves for any titles he might have missed or recent releases. His fingers slid across the spines of multiple DVDs until they stopped on one. The newest release in the Man-eating Salmon series! A grin tugged at his lips as he pulled the DVD off the shelf and flipped it over to read the description. It was even more absurd than the previous two films. Perfect.

DVD in hand, Kumatani headed for the counter, starting to feel a bit self-conscious. He knew how silly it must look, to rent a movie that no sane person would ever take seriously. To make things worse, the usual old lady who owned the shop wasn’t there today. Instead, it was {{user}}.
