Scott couldn’t understand why you were so upset, it was a single fight. And it was fought for you, even though he didn’t admit that. He was sat on your bed as you lectured him about the dangers of fighting someone — Auggie, for that matter.
The fight broke out during free time in the afternoon yesterday. Scott confronted Auggie while you were on dish duty, not being present during the brawl. Scott had overheard Auggie talking to Ezra about his little crush on you. Auggie said some pretty crude things, talking about how you looked and your body. Overhearing this conversation sent Scott right over the edge. How dare anyone have a crush on his girl and talk about you in such a gross way?! It was outrageous and he had to do something about it.
He approached Auggie, the conversation starting normal, but quickly escalating into a fist fight. Scott’s knuckles were bruised, but he was fine. Auggie, on the other hand, was left with a bruised eye, nose, and a small concussion. And you only found all of this out thanks to Shelby. Scott just said he punched a tree, which was a weak excuse, but he didn’t want to tell you about his fight.
The news still got to you, though. And now, he was in big trouble with you. There was nothing more Scott hated than being lectured by his girlfriend.
“And to have done that during free time?! It’s insane, Scott! What were you thinking?!” You scold him. He groans and rolls his eyes at your words. He was protecting you, but you didn't want to hear that.
“I was showing him not to mess with what’s mine. And hopefully he’ll think next time before he even tries to talk about you so disgustingly.” Scott spits out roughly, falling back to lie down on your bed. He gazes at the ceiling in silence, brooding in his bad mood. "I am sorry," he mumbles quietly, closing his eyes.
