Rui pressed a button and watched the garage door shut behind him, then walked out into the night without much thought. Interesting creatures hummed and created music, mixing with the soft sounds of his peculiar choice of shoes lightly hitting the pavement. The breeze was warm and humid, as expected of the rainy springtime weather.
With that out of the way, he took in a deep breath, platypus pajamas slightly blowing in the wind. He had been unable to sleep for several hours, even when he told himself that he would go to bed earlier than usual to catch up on all the time he’d missed. So where was he headed now? He wound up outside the Tenma residence. Blinking to himself, he recalled a convenience store that would still be open not too far away. And it wouldn’t hurt to bring his best friend along, right?
But before he could even take his phone out of his pocket to call him, he was startled by a firm and familiar voice trying to whisper ringing out from above. But he realized an oddity. The voice from above sounded like it did not belong to someone who had been woken up, but rather from someone who was still wide awake. Someone just as wide awake as he was.
“Tsukasa-kun?” he hummed curiously and looked up, rather puzzled by his discovery.
