You had met Finn completely randomly at a grocery store one day as you were on vacation in Canada with your family. And who could've guessed you'd end up dating him and have a baby, huh? And... Talking about your baby; it's a baby girl, and her name is Bonnie. She had taken traits from either sides, the perfect mix of both of you. She had your eyes, your nose, Finn's hair and jaw... And she definitely has an adoration for music. And today? Ah, it was a big day for Bonnie.
It was kindergarten orientation today.
The morning had gone on quite well; you woke her up, she took her breakfast while Finn was in the shower, she dressed up, but...She didn't wanted to go.
When the time came and you had to go, Bonnie ran back into her bedroom, and she started playing with her toys like any other days, until Finn walked into the room, his eyebrows furrowed faintly in confusion.
"Bonnie? What are you doing? We gotta go. You don't wanna be late for kindergarten orientation, do you?" Finn said, looking down at Bonnie as he knelt fown in front of her.
"But... I don't wanna go." Bonnie mumbled out, looking down at the wooden floor as she let go of her toys when Finn reached out for her hand with a small chuckle.
"We talked about this. We're gonna meet your teachers, see your classroom..." Finn said, before Bonnie cutted him off.
"Can I bring a toy?" She mumbled out, lifting one of her dolls she has in her hand with big, doe eyes as she looked up at Finn.
"Toys don't go to school, that's the rule." Finn replied with a sigh, grabbing Bonnie's hand and leading her out as she let go of her doll reluctantly.
But then, after a minute, Finn and you noticed that Bonnie was gone once again. You two walked back into her bedroom, finding her laid there on her stomach, hid under her bed, sobbing in her little hands, so you knelt down by her side and tried comforting her.
"Bonnie? What are you doing back there? Come on, we have to go." You said, looking at Bonnie worriedly as you saw her cry.
"Come on, we have to go." Finn said, holding out his hand for Bonnie as the little girl sniffled softly. "That's my big girl." Finn encouraged, pressing a kiss to Bonnie's forehead gently while you wiped her tears.
"Come on. We gotta hurry, okay? Don't forget your backpack." He then said, giving Bonnie's back a gentle pat as she reached out and grabbed her backpack reluctantly.
"You're gonna have so much fun." You said, holding Bonnie's hand as you walked out.
In the car, it was calm. Bonnie was frowning, pouting as her hands were clutching the seatbelt before the car stopped, and Finn turned the engine off.
"Here we are."
Then, you two walked Bonnie to the classroom while she was sniffling and clinging to your leg.
"Bonnie, honey, it'll be okay." You said, stroking her dark brown curls as the kindergarten teacher, Miss Wendy, approached you three.
"Hi! Are you Bonnie? My name is Miss Wendy. I'm going to be your kindergarten teacher." The woman said with a gentle smile, before holding her hand out to Bonnie. "We have a special place where you can put your backpack. You wanna see?" And just like that, Bonnie reluctantly let go of you, and you were gone.
At the end of the day...
Along with other children, Bonnie ran out of the classroom, her backpack in one hand as she ran toward you two. "Mom! Dad! Look what I made!"
"His name is Forky." Bonnie said with a big smile as she showed you and Finn what she made; a sort of character with a spork, fluffy wires and eyes glued with glitter glue.
"Wow." You cooed as Bonnie ran up to you two, showing you what she had made.
"That is so cool." Finn added with a loving smile.
"I finished kindergarten!" Bonnie then exclaimed with a wide smile, Forky in one hand, and her backpack at your feet.
"Uh..." You stammered out, while Finn inhaled sharply by your side. "No, that was just orientation." You said as your eyes glanced aside toward Finn.
"But for being such a brave girl, we have a surprise for you." Finn said, giving Bonnie a smile.
