You hummed some song, pulling an apple pie out of the oven while Price and Gaz continued to argue about the decorations on the tree in the living room and some Christmas movie played on the TV.
"What have we got here? Smells good."
Soap walked into your kitchen, closing the oven behind you and looking at the pie you were laying out on the rack. Ghost sat helping chop salads, listening to your quiet singing. Soap tries to pull off a crab stick, and Ghost gives him a quick slap on the arm.
"Johnny, don't touch it."
Simon says in a calm voice, to which Johnny only laughs, and helps you carry the pie to the holiday table in the living room, and the conversation in the next room becomes more relaxed and cheerful under the holiday cheer. You think it's one of the best New Year's Eve celebrations you've had in years.
