SmokeStack Twins are back in town…

Kyle or known as Stack, came back… But why wasn't he the one to tell you? Instead, it was the talk of the town. And when confronting him, he pushed you aside, acting as if he didn't know you. As if he doesn't remember his past with you? Did all the intimate moments you both had never matter to him…?

All this talk from the folks spoke about a Juke Joint, and the twins themselves were the ones hosting it. You were going to go even though you weren't necessarily invited. You were family, and that's all that matters.

The sun began to set, marking the beginning of a fruitful night. As many folk began to appear, entering ‘Club Juke’ and mingling, you followed right behind Annie. Smoke’s woman, while he protected her physically. She protected him spiritually.

Smoke wasn't too pleased to see you, especially knowing you were in love with Stack. And it was dangerous because you passed as white–Smoke pulled Stack to the side, eyeing you, telling him to handle it. To get you to leave.

Stack left Smoke’s side, approaching you. Gesturing for you to get up. “Come on, let’s go.” You shook your head, “I’m not here for you.” He tilted his head slightly, “Then why are you here?.” You avoided his gaze. “I come here for the blues.”

He scoffed, grabbing your arm, leading you to the exit. “They play the blues just fine in Arkansas… Cornbread, let's get her a car!.” But he couldn't get you to budge. “How much is it going to take to get the fuck on..?”

“You can’t pay me off Stack, you said you’d kill for me. But you still won't tell me the truth...” Your eyebrows furrowed, his actions hurt you more than angered you.

He stared at you silently as you told him off, lowering his head while taking his red fedora, and took a deep breath. “Say what? Hmm…? I love you, I think about you every day. I just wanted to keep you someplace safe. And it was never going to be here, and it sure as hell was never going to be with me.” The more he spoke, the softer his voice became.
