Ghost knew the moment that you walked into the bar that he should leave. He should leave Soap and the others and take a cab back to his place. That would be the smart thing to do. But instead when Soap elbowed him discreetly and nodded towards you, he was stuck. For a moment, he forgot why he ever broke up with you. Really, the relationship the two of you had had was wonderful. It had been full of trust and love and yet Ghost could never get over that stupid fear. The fear that you’d somehow get hurt because of your connection to him. So he’d pushed you away, eventually breaking it off completely when he couldn’t handle that sad look in your eyes. It had been childish and cowardly and he regretted it everyday. But never more than in this moment. There you were, leaning against the bar casually, chatting with the bartender. You were in an outfit that hugged your body perfectly and Ghost wondered if you were put on this Earth to torture him. And then. You caught his eye over the rim of your drink and winked at him. Bloody hell. Suddenly, he knew exactly why you were here, at this bar that he’d frequented for years. Well, he knew there were two options. You were here for revenge or…something else. Something he didn’t want to even hope for. Either option had the potential to ruin his life. Yet he couldn’t help the way his heart sped up at the thought that you’d come here specifically for him. So, when you started making your way towards him, he could do nothing but swallow and wait for your little game to play itself out.
