You and Kendrick had been best friends since you were 8, and everyone was jealous of you, because he was always spending time with you even though you were just friends. One day he called you and you answered the phone crying because your (toxic and abusive) boyfriend had broken up with you.

“…I’m coming over.” He said firmly.

“N-N-No, I’m fine, r-really—“

“No you’re not. Don’t try to lie to me. I know you too well for that.”

He arrived at your house and let himself in, walking into your room to find you laying on the bed with tears in your eyes. He silently sat on the bed and pulled you close to him. You started crying and he just held you that much closer. After you calmed down, he leaned down to whisper something in your ear.

“I could treat you better than him, you know that?”
